The deceased, who for a number of years was farming at Bunnythorpe, leaves a widow and a family of two children. The funeral takes place at the Palmerston cemetery on Sunday

Cotterill - On the 25th December, 1902, at his residence, Faraday street, Henry John Cotterill, aged 80 years

The death is announced of a very old resident of this district, Mr Henry John Cotterill, which took place at his residence, Faraday street, on Christmas Day. The deceased gentleman came to Napier about 1857 and lived here ever since. His wife died in August last, and grief for the lost he then suffered hastened the end of a man already burdened with the age of 80. The funeral took place this afternoon and was largely attended, representatives of all parts of the district being present to pay the last mark of respect to the memory of one who was universally esteemed. The Rev. C. E. Beecroft officiated at the grave and numerous wreaths were sent as tokens of sympathy
