G. A. McIlvride, Undertaker, Lower Hutt

The Evening Post 24th April 1900 shows
Mr James Buck, an old resident at Lower Hutt, whose death was announced last night, passed away very suddenly. He had apparently always been a very healthy man, and had never complained of an illness in his life. The family were about to have dinner, and Mrs Buck called deceased who replied that he would be there soon, but as he did not come in, she went out and found him lying dead near the door of a shed in the garden. Dr Prudy was called in, and as he could give a certificate that death was due to heart disease, no inquest was deemed necessary
